Iterating across multiple campaigns

How to use successive GreenLight campaigns to track improvement and converge on a strong signal.

A single GreenLight campaign is a snapshot. Multiple campaigns across different stages of development tell a story — how your concept is evolving, whether your revisions are landing, and when you've reached the level of audience resonance that justifies a full pitch or production investment.

Using GreenLight iteratively is one of the most powerful patterns on the platform.

How to run an effective iteration cycle

1

Run your first campaign early, not when it's 'ready'

Don't wait for a perfect pitch deck. Run an early campaign with a logline and premise summary. A low score early is not a failure — it's a diagnosis. Finding out your central premise is unclear at this stage is dramatically cheaper than finding out after six months of development.

2

Use audience objections as a dev brief

Export the key objection themes from your report into WritersRoom project memory. Run a Premise Stress Test session specifically addressing each one. Make targeted revisions — then run a second campaign.

3

Keep test questions consistent between campaigns

If you want to track improvement meaningfully, keep at least half your questions identical between campaigns. This creates a comparable baseline. Changing all questions between campaigns makes it difficult to tell whether a score change reflects a better project or different questions.

4

Watch the trend, not just the score

A project that scores 62 → 71 → 79 across three campaigns tells a clear story to an investor. A single campaign score of 79 tells them nothing about trajectory. Track every campaign in your Report History and be ready to show the progression.

5

Use different audience configurations to segment

Run one public campaign to gauge broad response, and one invite-only campaign with a targeted audience (e.g., genre fans you've sourced yourself). The comparison reveals whether your concept has niche depth or broad reach — or both.

Three campaigns is a pattern

The most credible evidence package for a pitch or funding meeting is three GreenLight campaigns showing progressive improvement — premise, refined pitch, final concept. This demonstrates you've incorporated audience feedback and the concept gets stronger under scrutiny.
