Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about GreenLightOS across all modules.
Membership, AI actions, reports and payments
What is included in the $149 monthly membership?
The current GreenLightOS monthly plan is $149 USD and includes 500 AI actions, one Coverage Analysis Report and one Development Intelligence Report per active billing period. AI actions and report credits are separate allowances. Check the live offer and your account balance before purchasing; checkout shows the applicable price, discount, renewal terms and any tax.
What exactly counts as one AI action?
One successful user request and its AI answer count as one action in total—not one for your message and another for the reply. Internal model passes, summaries and technical retries are not separate customer actions. Tokens measure model input/output volume; they are not AI actions and are not a second allowance you must purchase.
Does uploading a file use an AI action?
A WritersRoom upload that triggers automatic AI analysis uses one action. Uploads and analysis required for a separately purchased report are covered by that report purchase and do not use the membership's 500 actions. Supported formats, extraction quality and feature context limits still apply; an upload is not a guarantee that every page is read in every AI request.
Can I use the platform without subscribing or after running out of actions?
Yes. Manual canvas writing, creating and managing scenes, and other free tools remain available. Only the paid AI capability you invoke is restricted when you do not have the required access or available allowance. The platform shows an upgrade or renewal prompt; your ordinary writing workspace does not become read-only.
Does complimentary or VIP access cancel my paid subscription?
No. An access grant and a paid subscription are separate records. A grant does not itself cancel, pause or refund a subscription. Your Profile and Purchases & Billing show paid billing separately when a grant supplies workspace access. Use the paid subscription's cancellation or billing controls if you want to stop renewal. A grant also does not prove that a pending paid checkout succeeded: resume the original checkout and wait for verified payment confirmation rather than starting another payment.
When do allowances renew? Are there extra daily AI spending limits?
Membership allowances follow the actual subscription billing period, not a calendar-month assumption. Your balance and paid-through dates are shown in Billing. The 500-action allowance bounds member AI activity; there is no additional customer daily dollar allowance. Per-request context/output limits and security controls still apply. Platform provider-cost estimates are monitoring figures, not an extra charge or a hard customer spending cutoff.
Can I buy a report without membership?
Yes. A standalone Coverage Analysis Report currently costs $29 USD and a standalone Development Intelligence Report $49 USD. Each purchase covers its selected report and required analysis for the selected source files. It does not start a subscription, grant general AI chat access, or require or consume the membership's 500 actions. A fresh assessment of revised sources is a new generation and needs its own available report credit or purchase.
How do I buy a report and find it afterwards?
Sign in, choose the report product, upload or select the source files you have rights to use, review the price and required acknowledgements, and complete checkout if payment is needed. Open Purchases & Billing (/purchases-billing) for the order, receipt and generation status; use the report/open-result link when it is ready. Reports are also available through the relevant Reports or WritersRoom project report view. Reopen the saved result rather than starting another generation to read it again.
Does a successful checkout return page mean my report or membership is ready?
Not by itself. GreenLightOS verifies payment and entitlement status before granting paid access or starting delivery. A checkout return can briefly show confirmation pending. Refresh the status or check Purchases & Billing instead of paying again. A generated report is available only after its saved result is ready, not merely because the payment page redirected.
What if report generation fails or stays pending?
The order shows its delivery status. Recoverable failures receive bounded automatic retries; persistent failures move to administrator review. A failure does not automatically create a cash refund, a second purchase or a new membership-action charge. Check the existing order and any available retry action, then contact hello@greenlightos.ai with the order reference and error. Do not buy the same report again to work around an unresolved delivery issue.
How do I pay or authenticate a failed renewal?
Open Profile and find the payment-recovery notice for your paid membership. Choose 'Pay or authenticate original invoice'. After a recent sign-in and any required MFA, GreenLightOS verifies ownership and opens the original unpaid renewal invoice on Stripe. Complete any bank authentication or payment there; simply updating your saved card may not pay that invoice. Opening the page does not start another subscription or restore AI access. Paid AI resumes only after payment is verified. If the invoice is already paid, closed, replaced or cannot be verified, refresh billing or contact support rather than purchasing again. Free writing and separately purchased reports remain available.
How do cancellation and failed subscription payments work?
Cancelling stops future renewal while your existing paid access and unused allowances remain valid until the actual paid-through timestamp; unused subscription time is not normally refunded. A failed renewal is different: subscription-based AI pauses immediately. Recovery targets three days, with notifications and payment recovery attempts—not three days of free paid AI. Cancellation follows a confirmed final decline and the required warning. Bank authentication, an uncertain payment or an unconfirmed warning requires attention and can delay cancellation; paid AI stays paused. Updating a card alone may not pay the original invoice. Manual free tools and independently purchased report access remain available.
What is the refund policy?
There is no routine prorated refund for unused membership time or a mid-period cancellation. Failed or undelivered reports, duplicate charges and other payment problems are investigated by support; retries and administrator review come before a refund decision, rather than an automatic refund on generation failure. Any legally required refund or other mandatory consumer remedy remains available. Contact hello@greenlightos.ai before making another purchase to replace a disputed or failed order.
What happens after a refund or payment dispute?
A full membership refund or an active membership payment dispute pauses subscription-based AI; a partial refund alone does not. Free tools remain available. Report delivery may pause while its payment is under review, but completed saved standalone reports and private writing are retained. Winning a dispute does not automatically create new allowances: verified administrator restoration is limited to eligible unused access within the original unexpired period. Support can explain the status of your particular order.
What is the difference between a discount code and a Beta invitation?
A report discount code applies to the selected Coverage Analysis or Development Intelligence purchase. A recurring membership discount applies for the stated number of billing cycles through Stripe and may renew at the full price shown before checkout. A no-card membership trial is different: sign in, open Membership, and use the separate access/trial-code panel. Preview the included benefits, accept the displayed terms and redeem. It starts the stated number of full access days immediately, without Stripe checkout, a card requirement or automatic paid renewal. Legacy account-bound Beta invitations remain separate and use their stated fixed expiry. Applying or previewing a discount is not payment confirmation and does not reserve the last redemption.
Can I share a code or combine several discounts?
Do not assume a code is transferable or stackable. Use the signed-in account for which it was issued, on the matching product or plan, before its expiry. Checkout validates the benefit again; a preview does not reserve the last redemption. If a code is rejected, check its scope and dates or contact support rather than repeatedly creating orders.
What does a no-card membership trial include, and when does it expire?
The trial preview shows the current full membership bundle. The current bundle includes GreenLight, VitaeMe and WritersRoom access, 500 AI actions, one Coverage Analysis Report and one Development Intelligence Report. These allowances are issued once for the whole trial, not reset monthly during a longer trial. Access lasts the number of days stated by the code, starting at successful redemption. The code's redemption deadline is a separate date: redeeming near that deadline still gives the full trial duration. Unused trial allowances expire with trial access. Your saved work and free manual features remain available.
Will my trial charge me or automatically become a paid subscription?
No. A no-card trial does not create a Stripe subscription or collect payment. Expiry reminders link to Membership so you can decide whether to purchase. Paid membership requires your separate checkout and acceptance of the displayed price and renewal terms. A pending or failed checkout does not itself remove an otherwise valid trial. Once paid access is verified, the paid membership replaces the trial allowance rather than adding overlapping trial and paid balances.
What should I send support, and what should I never send?
Use hello@greenlightos.ai. Include the signed-in account reference, product, order reference, approximate date/time and visible error or status. Do not email passwords, MFA secrets, backup codes, full payment-card details or an entire private screenplay unless support specifically provides an appropriate authorised process. Receipts and delivery status are available in Purchases & Billing.
Who can see private writing, and does payment change ownership?
Your original writing remains yours and is private by default—not visible to other ordinary users. Authorised staff and providers may process necessary data for delivery, support, security and legal compliance. GreenLightOS.ai does not itself train or fine-tune models on your writing without specific consent. Provider handling depends on the commercial service, contract and controls; see Privacy > Named provider register. No-training is not zero retention or a guarantee against human access or incidents. Buying a report is not permission to publish your screenplay.
Which providers receive my data?
Privacy > Named provider register describes OpenAI, the Anthropic/Claude alternative, Replit, Google Cloud Storage through Replit, Resend, Stripe, public credit lookups and optional blockchain services. Providers receive different data for different purposes—not every provider receives your files. Models and routes vary by feature, and a listed alternative is not used for every request. Contact hello@greenlightos.ai about the handling of a particular request.
Can I rely on AI coverage, scores or advice?
AI can be wrong, fabricated, biased, incomplete or outdated, and may not read every page or earlier message. Independently verify facts, citations, calculations, rights and important decisions. AI coverage is not human professional review unless expressly included and actually provided. Scores do not guarantee financing, distribution, audience response or commercial success. See Terms > AI limitations.
Do I own AI outputs, and are they confidential or unique?
You retain your original writing and may use outputs subject to the Terms, law and third-party rights. AI output is not guaranteed unique, non-infringing or copyrightable. Private by default is not zero retention or absolute secrecy: authorised staff and providers may process content for disclosed purposes. Do not submit third-party confidential material without permission, and keep independent copies.
What happens to my work when I delete my account?
User-requested account deletion ordinarily has a 30-day recovery window before permanent-deletion processing becomes eligible. A protected administrator override may bypass that window. Export writing and reports first. Cancelling membership is different from deleting your account. Legal/billing records, provider records, safety checks and backup expiry may need separate handling; not every copy disappears on day 30. Privacy explains the limits.
Does accepting the Terms waive my legal rights?
No. AI/security risk acknowledgements do not waive mandatory consumer or data-protection rights. The Terms include a legally qualified 12-month service-fee liability cap with exceptions, not an absolute fee-only maximum for every claim. No blanket user indemnity is imposed. Support and retry/admin-review processes do not remove legally required refunds, complaints or other remedies.
Does buying an AI report prove audience demand or guarantee success?
No. Coverage Analysis and Development Intelligence are AI-assisted assessments of your selected material, not evidence that real people tested the project, a production green light or a commercial guarantee. Review outputs for mistakes. Any blockchain-integrity claim requires a separately confirmed, verifiable record for that report; a queued job or synthetic fixture must not be described as genuine audience validation.
General
Is GreenLightOS free to use?
Manual writing, canvas editing, scene creation/management and other free tools are available without subscription. Paid AI requires the appropriate active access and allowance. The current $149 monthly plan includes 500 AI actions and separate report credits. Standalone Coverage Analysis ($29) and Development Intelligence ($49) purchases do not require membership or use its 500 actions. See Membership, Reports & Billing for the full rules.
Who is GreenLightOS for?
Writers, screenwriters, showrunners, and creative producers developing entertainment projects. Also for audience members who want to shape what gets made, and industry professionals who want access to verified creative credentials and reliable audience intelligence.
What's the difference between GreenLightOS and a generic AI writing tool?
Generic AI tools reset between sessions, know nothing about your project, and don't adapt to your voice. GreenLightOS combines persistent project memory, VitaeMe voice calibration, 13 specialised writing modes, professional Brutal Coverage, and a direct path to on-chain-verified audience testing — it's a complete creative intelligence system, not just a chat interface.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Security → Delete Account. You can first download an account archive (.tar) containing account-data.json, available verified uploaded files and an export-manifest.json listing files not copied; keep it secure, as downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Deletion is scheduled for 30 days after you confirm: normal access and public sharing stop immediately, and you can restore the account (after verification) until the deadline. After the deadline your private writing and files are permanently cleaned. Minimal billing and audit records are retained as required, backups and providers expire data separately, and no refund is automatic.
Privacy & Security
Is my creative work private?
Your projects, chats, memory and source files are private from other ordinary users by default. Selected context is processed for authorised features, with staff/provider access for disclosed purposes. GreenLightOS.ai does not itself train or fine-tune models on writing without specific consent. Provider handling and retention are described in the Privacy Policy's named register; privacy is not an absolute-security guarantee.
Who can see my VitaeMe profile?
Your profile is private by default. You can share a public link from Settings → Profile. The public page shows your bio, selected credits, and skill level — never your writing samples, calibration details, or any private project data.
Is my data encrypted?
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected by storage and access controls. Your writing samples, project files, and AI session data are not shared with other users; authorised personnel and contracted providers may access the minimum necessary data for delivery, support, security, and legal compliance.
How do I enable two-factor authentication?
Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Enable. You'll scan a QR code with any TOTP authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.) and save recovery codes. See the Two-Factor Authentication article for full setup instructions.
AI & Technology
What powers the AI across the platform?
All AI features — WritersRoom development assistance, VitaeMe persona generation, GreenLight report synthesis, and Brutal Coverage — run on GreenLightAI-v5.6, GreenLightOS's proprietary AI layer. Your project memory, source files, VitaeMe voice persona, and skill level can inform supported responses through the context selected for that workflow.
Is my work used to train AI models?
GreenLightOS.ai does not itself train or fine-tune models on your writing without explicit, specific consent. Inference uses content to generate the requested response; calibration and memory are context, not model-weight training. Provider practices depend on commercial/API agreements and account controls. The Privacy Policy's named register distinguishes implemented routes from confirmed active providers and explains verification limits. No-training does not mean zero retention or no authorised review.
Why does WritersRoom have 13 modes instead of one?
Different stages of creative development require fundamentally different kinds of help. Outlining needs structural thinking. Dialogue needs voice calibration. Script coverage needs unvarnished production judgment. A single general mode produces mediocre results at every stage. Specialised modes let the AI focus precisely on what you actually need right now.
How does Brutal Coverage differ from asking the AI for feedback?
Brutal Coverage produces structured professional coverage in the standard industry format — logline assessment, premise strength, character analysis, structure, dialogue, marketability, and a Pass/Consider/Recommend. It's systematic and comprehensive. Asking for feedback in a normal session is conversational and open-ended — useful at different stages for different reasons.
Can the AI be wrong?
Yes. AI analysis is a starting point, not a verdict. Coverage assessments, style profiles, and Insights scores should be treated as informed perspectives — weighted heavily, but always filtered through your own creative judgment.
WritersRoom
Can I export my script or project?
Yes. The Handoff feature generates an exportable creative package as a document. Individual memory objects and decisions can be copied. Full screenplay-format export (e.g. Final Draft .fdx) is on the roadmap.
Can I collaborate on a WritersRoom project with another person?
Multi-user collaboration is on the roadmap. Currently, WritersRoom projects are single-user. You can share a Handoff package with a collaborator, but real-time co-editing is not yet supported.
What happens when my session gets very long?
WritersRoom automatically compresses older conversation history into a structured rolling summary, preserving creative decisions and key facts without overflowing the AI's context window. Saved messages remain available in their session while that session is retained — only what's sent to the AI is compressed. See the Long sessions & rolling history article for details.
How is Character Web different from Project Memory?
Project Memory is a structured database of all types of creative facts — characters, world rules, themes, decisions, risks. Character Web is a dedicated relationship-mapping tool that visualises how your characters connect and persist those dynamics as AI context. They complement each other: use Character Map mode and project memory for character depth, Character Web for relationship structure.
GreenLight & Blockchain
Can I use GreenLightOS without a blockchain wallet?
Yes. The blockchain layer is entirely optional. All core features — VitaeMe, WritersRoom, and GreenLight campaigns — work without a connected wallet. Wallet-linked features depend on their current availability and confirmed issuance; ordinary platform use does not require a wallet.
What blockchain network does GreenLightOS use?
The current configured proof integration uses Base Sepolia testnet, where a funded and enabled broadcaster successfully confirms an individual record. Check that record's status and explorer link. A saved AI report, hash, queued job or simulation is not a confirmed broadcast or proof of genuine audience demand.
Do GreenLight audience responses come from real people?
Yes. GreenLight audience members are real registered users on the platform. Bot-like or anomalous response patterns are flagged and excluded from report scoring.
What happens to audience responses if I close a campaign early?
Responses already collected are preserved. If you've reached the minimum threshold, you can still generate a report. If you haven't reached the minimum, the report is unavailable — but the response data is retained if you choose to re-open the campaign.
What does the blockchain proof actually prove?
It proves that a specific set of test results existed at a specific time and have not been altered since. The SHA-256 hash of your aggregate results is stored on Base — any recipient can independently verify that your report matches the on-chain record, making fabrication or retroactive editing technically impossible.
VitaeMe
What does 'verified' mean on a VitaeMe credit?
Credits have three verification tiers: Self-declared (you added it), pending evidence review or Platform Verified (you uploaded supporting evidence such as a contract or WGA registration), and Platform Verified (independently confirmed through industry database matching, peer attestation, or direct third-party confirmation). The tier is shown on each credit and on your public profile.
What if I have credits that aren't on IMDB or TMDB?
Add missing credits manually and upload relevant proof. Submission is pending review, not automatic Platform Verified status. Database matches and peer attestations are separate evidence signals.
Can other users see my writing samples?
Writing samples are private by default and are not visible to other ordinary users or collaborators. Authorised staff and contracted providers may access the minimum necessary content for delivery, support, security and legal compliance. Analysis uses your consent and the sources authorised for the feature; private does not mean technically inaccessible to all platform administrators.
